Luca Mérimée, 13 years old and his lastest ascent to the peak of Carlit

After the cancellation of the big competitions, the fun end-of-season events and the 2 months of interminable imprisonment, the desire to get out was a lot for Luca.

The idea was to go back to snowboarding and end the season with a good slap, both visually and in the approach to the sport.

Luca knows this ascent of the Carlit because the pupils of the Font-Romeu secondary school go there every beginning of the year as a ritual to return to school, where the best complete it in just under an hour. The weather was still nice at the end of May, but the case was very different, as he was loaded with his snowboard equipment almost complete and a towel. The ascent was tough with a D+ of just under 900 metres.

With their friend Tom Régnier Polo, without pressure, they managed to make a nice 2 hours tour and some cold showers for Luca, still a bit light. The slap was there, with a handful of chutes and little snow, unlikely gashes and crushes. All this against a backdrop of snow, lagoon and primary age rocks dating back 250 million years.
